Hey Old Cityzens!

Is it too early to start thinking about fall – cooler temperatures and apple cider and pumpkin flavored everything??

I’ll take the first two, but I’m no basic B. *side eye*

Couple quick notes for this week – reserving and canceling class times. Reminder that it opens up 1 week in advance, and you have 1 hour before the class starts to remove yourself if your schedule changes. With that said, 6AM is already booked this whole week, as is the 5:30p class Mon/Tues, and the 9AM class on Saturday. Yup. Some popular days/time slots/(coaches…), and MEMBERS! Y’all aren’t tired of each other yet, so I guess the socially distanced spaces are working in more ways than one. 😉

Alright.. all kidding aside, people are coming back, and there is the demand for certain time slots. We’re well aware of that and are working to make space where we can – maybe we can get in a 10th person and still meet DC’s social distancing guidelines, there’s the option of Zoom classes at 6AM and 5pm (*cough, 5pm *cough*). And there’s also room in the classes before and after those that are full. But until then, if you want to get into the 6am class for *next* week, you better be online at 6:00:01am the week before. For real!

And if you know you can’t make it to class or something comes up, be sure to cancel your reservation with as much time to spare as possible. This is especially helpful for the AM classes where there is usually a waitlist 2-4 people deep for the 6AM class. Like I said, we’re actively working to try to get more people into the class or another class (online) at that time to meet the demand.

Online Happy Hour
It was mentioned in the newsletter that our September event – an online happy hour – would take place on Friday, September 18th. I overlooked the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah starting that evening, so we’re going to move it up a day to Thursday, September 17th at 7:30pm. This will take place after the ZoomWOD that evening and last until about 9pm. Some of us still have to get up early, y’know. Just pop in and say hello to your fellow Old Cityzens. You can find the link to the Event on our Facebook Community Group. If you’re not on Facebook, send us a message and we’ll hook you up.

Okay.. those are my few things, and I’ve dawdled enough to get them *just* perfect, and they still aren’t perfect! *face palm*

Let’s go on and see what’s coming up this week..

Monday – Double strength day with a snatch version of what we did last Tuesday, as well as weighted (or strict) pull up work.

Tuesday – Getting in one of two long workouts early, and this is a doozy. Similar press and squat movements with some running in between.

Wednesday – Deadlift day is back, and you’ll be going for a heavy 5. Bringing the dballs back in to the mix, too, and also have your jump ropes handy. Don’t have one? If you’re not super picky, you can get a decent one for cheap off of Amazon. The Rx Smart Gear that we use in the gym have a bit more specificity to them – cable length, thickness – but if you like those, get one of your own. And if you bring it with you every day, you

Thursday – Push press for 5 followed by tabata pressing and lunging.

Friday – Hitting up an old mainsite workout – but is it the WOD or the at-home workout? Hmm…

Saturday
– Skill day of toes to bar. Missing burpees this week? Don’t worry, you’ll see them today, along with some box jumps add KB swings.

Sunday – Hero/TributeWOD – Join Jess in the park (check FB Group for more info), socially distanced with a friend, or on your own.

Let’s have another great week!
