The backbone of Old City CrossFit is traditional CrossFit workouts, focusing on strength, conditioning, and mobility. These workouts combine gymnastics, weightlifting, and metabolic conditioning in varying degrees and durations to create unparalleled results. From the basic (but all-important) air squat all the way to the very technical muscle up and Olympic lifts, we utilize them all and make it workable for anyone at any level of fitness. We build strength, endurance, agility, technical ability, and general awareness of body and mind by training movements that support functional ability and translate to real life. And of course, there are the aesthetic benefits, too.
Mixed level Hatha Yoga class with emphasis on alignment. Every pose can be made more accessible or more challenging, according to each student’s ability. Muscular awareness and engagement are used to create length, rather than passive stretch. Mobility and flexibility are heavily emphasized, with a strong focus on core strength for stability and balance to help you move in and out of lifts with greater ease. Yoga complements your CrossFit and strength and conditioning workouts.
Old City Swim School is the perfect place to perfect your swimming ability or to learn from scratch. Regardless of your previous swimming ability or experience, we have a program that will be a great fit in taking your swimming to the next level.
Our Adult Learn to Swim Program is designed to find your specific limiting skill and teach it to you. Regardless of your current ability level, we’ll find the right level for you and get to work improving your swimming technique.
For more advanced swimmers, we offer a SwimWOD class. Classes are held at the Gallaudet University Campus.

Every Sunday from 11-12:30 the Old City Strength Club meets. This class is open to everyone and anyone who wants to spend a little extra time under that barbell. No WODs in this class, just strength. Show up on Sundays to see what all the fun’s about!
Miss a workout, looking to work some skills, or schedule too hectic to make regular classes? Open Gym time gives you the flexibility to get your workouts in, your way. Open Gym hours are Saturday from 11 am – 1 pm and Sunday from 9 – 11 am.
Old City Swim School offers swim lessons for toddlers, children, and teens of all ability levels. We’re DC’s only certified SwimAmerica Learn-to-Swim Program and our mission is to teach your child how to swim as quickly and efficiently as possible.

At Old City Gymnastics, we are passionate about preparing kids of all ages and abilities to lead healthy and active lives. We do this by teaching gymnastics with a focus on developing fundamental body movement techniques in a fun and low-key environment.
Our team of expert former competitive gymnasts, dancers, and collegiate athletes (including an aerialist!) truly enjoy teaching and working with kids of all ages and abilities. Our goal is to help your child learn age-appropriate fundamental body movement techniques through gymnastics. Our programming is designed to support the development of overall general athleticism and make sure kids have fun doing it!
