Hey Old Cityzens!
First off, I hope everyone had a safe and Merry Christmas, and a good weekend overall however you decided to spend it. I realize not everyone celebrates Christmas, so I hope you were able to take time for yourself and make the most of each day in your own way.
We’ve got some good things planned this week – some retesting, along with a NYE themed workout. After this week, we’ll be back on track with our programming. It’s always fun to do these long chippers from time to time, and see how much your general fitness can carry you through a workout. But it’s also nice to then dial the intensity back a notch, go back to basics, and get to know the lifts and movements on a more personal level.
With that said, more information about the January programming will be detailed in the January newsletter coming out later this week. And while you’re waiting for that with bated breath, take some time this week to set some 2021 goals if you haven’t already. Maybe some of your 2020 goals will carry over, and that’s just fine. Yeah, this was quite the atypical year, buy hopefully you saw some growth and changes in your physical and mental fitness whether you were in the gym or working out from home. Be proud of what you accomplished and continue to build on it.
And on that note, check out the schedule for this week and continue – or start – new habits to wrap up the year/start the new year – on a good note.
Thursday: 6AM, 7AM, 930AM, Noon
Friday: CLOSED! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Saturday: Normal Schedule
Monday and going forward: Normal schedule
Let’s see what’s coming up this week..
Monday – Double strength day with snatches and dips. We’ll revisit a complex we did back in September, similar to last week’s cleans, which gives you a chance to see how much your strength technique has improved over the last 3 months.
Tuesday – Back squat for a heavy single and a dball metcon.
Wednesday – New Years Eve (eve) themed WOD. As with last week, choosing to do these ‘specialty’ WODs on Wednesday when we have more classes offered to get more bodies in the gym to participate. And if you can’t make it into the gym, a no-equipment version will be posted online as well.
Thursday – Pressing strength day followed by DB triplet.
Friday – CLOSED! Happy New Year!
Saturday – Handstand push up skill work with some wall walks and wall balls. Yaaa.. wall balls!
Sunday – Rest day! Get in some mobility or yoga work, or just enjoy the day off and away from the gym.
Let’s have another great week!
