I hope you had a great weekend and are getting ready for the holidays. Speaking of holidays, we have our holiday party THIS Saturday at 8PM! Woo hoo! Hope to see you all there. Speaking of this weekend on Sunday, we only have the evening classes going on – Hero WOD at 5:15 and yoga at 6:30. There is NO open gym or gainz club Sunday morning.
A brief note about the weather and workouts. Running will still be programmed. Bring gloves, bring a hat, bring a long sleeve shirt, bring a positive mental attitude.
Looking ahead to 2019, the dates for the 2019 CrossFit Games Open have finally been posted. The online competition will start Thursday, February 21st, and will once again span five weeks, concluding on Monday, March 25th.
The week-by-week schedule, confirmed by CrossFit HQ will follow a similar format as years past.
Week 1 – Thursday, Feb. 21st – Monday, Feb. 25th
Week 2 – Thursday, Feb. 28th – Monday, Mar. 4th
Week 3 – Thursday, Mar. 7th – Monday, Mar. 11th
Week 4 – Thursday, Mar. 14h – Monday, Mar. 18th
Week 5 – Thursday, Mar. 21st – Monday, Mar. 25th
And to get you ready for the CrossFit Open, this Wednesday is the start of Dubai CrossFit Championship. This is the FIRST sanctioned event of the new era of CrossFit and the first to take place. Check out the link to see who to follow and who some of the dark horses are that could give Mat Fraser and Laura Horvath a run for their money!
With competition on the mind, let’s see what’s coming up this week..
Monday – Long, chipper workout for the last day of Hanukkah
Tuesday – Deadlifts and some running.
Wednesday – Pressing for strength as well as a online qualifier workout from the Wodapalooza Online qualifier a few months ago. We’ll be introducing a new dumbbell movement as well.
Thursday – Double strength day – split snatch and RDLs (Romanian deadlifts). Remember that we’re doing away with the cashoutWOD to focus on these two movements.
Friday – Bring your jump ropes as we have two triplets going on today. You’ll have a chance to work on your double unders, strict gymnastics movements, and cycling barbell movements.
Saturday – Back squat followed by some goblet squats and snatches.
Sunday – 5:15 Hero WOD and Yoga ONLY.
