Upper body push – strict press.
Lower body push – rowing.
People hop on the erg (rowing machine), and grip and rip. As you likely learned with the sumo deadlift high pull on Monday, that movement requires a lot of leg drive to get the barbell off the ground. Very similar here – rowing requires a lot of leg drive to go faster.
We did a 1000m row back on September 21st, and all three distances in February – both times after squatting. Legs should be fresh today, so use them!
