Strength
Bench press
Heavy 8

Workout

12 min AMRAP
12 Toes to bar
10 DB Push press (2-50/35)
8 Box step over w/ 2-DBs (24/20) *variations of stepovers, specifically for men Rx

**Vertical and horizontal pressing day with barbell and dumbbell. I really like the heavy 8 on the bench press because I feel like it’s reps 6,7,8 when you learn to brace/”get tight”. Hopefully now you think of that before the weight starts getting heavier, so you can press more this time around.

This workout is going to challenge your grip a bit, but for those able to cycle the T2B efficiently, you won’t start to notice things a few rounds in on the step overs. Swing/kip the DBs if you need to to assist in getting over the box, but keep them off your legs. All other ‘but what about..’ questions can be answered by your coach. I see the push press being a limiter for some (GET TIGHT!) so be honest with yourself when choosing your workout weight. The allure of going heavy/Rx can be strong, but are you having to do more than 2 sets to finish the 10 reps, and is your lock out soft? Have confidence in how you move even if it’s with scaled weights/movements.
