Hey Old Cityzens!

A belated ‘Merry Christmas’ to all who celebrate! Even if you don’t, I hope you were able to spend some time with family and friends this weekend.

If you’re around this week, make it a point to get back in the gym. There are a *few* modifications to the schedule –

Tuesday, December 26th – 6AM, 7AM, noon, 4:30pm, 5:30PM
Wednesday, December 27th through Saturday, December 30th – NORMAL
Sunday, December 31st – OPEN GYM ONLY (9-11AM)
Monday, January 1st – CLOSED
Tuesday, January 2nd and going forward – NORMAL

If you’re someone who likes to make resolutions.. nay, set monthly or yearly goals, now is a good time to start working towards them, or at least to start forming (or continue!) good habits. We had a great series of blog posts a few months back geared towards goal setting. If you don’t know where to start – check it out!

Here’s a good place to start – get to the gym 3x a week.
“What days?” – Just 3 of them.
“What if I miss back squat day?” – You’ll survive.
“But I need work on my muscle ups!” – Make one of those 3 days open gym where you can do back squats AND gymnastics work.

Start simple, start a routine, check out the blog posts, and get going on 2018.

Until then, we’ve got some work to do, so let’s see what we’ve got in store for the rest of the week..

Tuesday – Working on dem hips and getting you squatting today. Busting out the DBs for a spicy little triplet after that will have you rethinking that eggnog and 2nd helping of everything. Ooof!

Wednesday – This is a “Cindy”-esque workout in the sense that you should be able to get a lot of rounds in the 20 min time frame. Reps are low enough that you can power through each movement and it won’t be until the workout is over that you start to think WTF just happened.

Thursday
– Squatting and some jump rope action. No biggie.. *yawn*

Friday – Benching and going overhead again. Using the KBs unilaterally along with some other stuff. Keeping with the ‘triplet theme’ this week, too.

Saturday – Partner workout following deadlifts. Good chance to race some other pairs in the class.

Sunday – OPEN GYM ONLY. But there will be an end-of-the-year themed workout posted.
