Here’s my story (play to the tune of the Beverly Hillbillies): More than a year ago, I knew I wanted to get healthier. In my mid-thirties, I had been a casual runner, hiker, and generally active person although my experience in gyms had been limited. There was a weightlifting class for our high school football team, but it was utterly disorganized.

In more modern times, I felt intimidated going to new gyms, not sure how to use most of the equipment / weights, much like this guy. I met Sean while watching a Navy football game at The Big Board, and we briefly chatted about his new gym. Not knowing what to expect, I came by to give Old City CrossFit a shot.

Fast forward more than a year. I’m in the best shape of my life. I’ve lost fat, gained a great deal of strength and muscle, and enjoyed the company of motivated and fun folks. The Old City CrossFit program allows a personalization of workouts that rivals the experience of a personal trainer with the added benefit of a supportive community. The varied workouts are never boring, the coaches perfect motivators, and the program gets results. I couldn’t be happier with how this experiment turned out. Further, Old City’s brand of CrossFit is the perfect blend of difficulty and conviviality. Going to the gym couldn’t be more fun. Except for burpees. I hate burpees…
Thanks guys.
