This is Jen.  Jen has run six 100 mile races.  I will now give you time to let that sink in…

…has it sunk in yet?…

Let’s put a 100 mile race into perspective.  Jen ran to Richmond.  Remember that half marathon you ran?  Jen did that 7 times and still had 8 miles till the finish.  Jen ran a lap and a half around the 495 beltway.   Jen ran the entire length of Long Island.  Yeah, that’s right, LONG Island!  And she has does that SIX (ARE YOU FREEKING KIDDING ME!) TIMES!!!

Now that this has sunk in a little bit, let’s find out a little bit more about this ultra-badass!

Completing her first 100 mile race in 2007 (“barely” as Jen puts it), Jen went back for seconds.  She was 68 miles into her second 100 mile race when she couldn’t go any further and dropped out. (Can you imagine running 68 miles and being disappointed with the result?)  When analyzing her training over the past couple years, Jen realized that the traditional endurance running training model she had been following gave her tons of endurance but absolutely no strength.  She couldn’t do 5 push ups!  After a little bit of online research Jen discovered CrossFit Endurance.  Changing her training from a long, slow, distance model to a CrossFit Endurance strength and intensity model has made all the difference in the world.

The following years, with CrossFit Endurance training under her belt, Jen proceeded to not only finish that same 100 mile race, but to finish 4 more 100 mile races improving her time each year!  We couldn’t be more impressed.  We also couldn’t be happier that Jen is a Founding Father of Old City!  Welcome to the Family, Jen!  Please don’t judge me when the warm-up lap around the block has me breathing hard…
