When I go on vacation it is to sit on a beach and enjoy sunlight. When Myra goes on a vacation it is to do something extraordinarily impressive. Myra, pictured below sitting on the stoop of the keyhole of Longs Peak in the Rocky Mountain National Park, loves trail running, canyoneering, skiing, snowboarding, and every other amazingly impressive sport you can imagine.
When Myra isn’t tied up hiking trails right off the pages of National Geographic (like the Chamonix-Zermatt Haute Route), she works at the National Deaf Education Center at Gallaudet University with deaf and hard of hearing children from birth through 21 years. Myra, a deaf athlete and ASL aficionado, doesn’t make excuses and certainly doesn’t tolerate yours. We can’t wait to have her never-give-up attitude inspire all of us Old Cityzens! Welcome to the family, Myra! Now, can you please take a normal vacation and stop making us all feel like wimps?
