Hey Old Cityzens!

I hope you had a great weekend/Passover/Easter and didn’t get fooled by any April Fool’s jokes. Well there won’t be any tricks in my post, so I’ll get right to the good stuff.

Full Moon Hike Saturday, April 28th 8pm – 10pm – Get your tickets HERE. The event shows that ’33 people are going’, however, there are only 25 tickets total – CLOSER TO 7 NOW – available. Just clicking ‘going’ won’t get you in. You need a ticket.

This will be at the National Arboretum and you’ll cover about 4 miles in the 2 hours of hiking through the moonlit gardens, meadows, and woods. Check the Event page for more information. And if you have any questions, reach out to Old Cityzen Ruthie McGinn

Spartan Race at Nationals Park – Saturday, May 12th – You can register HERE – try to choose the 1:15-1:30 timeslot, or as close to it as possible – to join Matt Martz and some more Old Cityzens as they race around Nats Park for 3+ miles and conquer 20+ obstacles. The website says you get a “Badass Stadium Sprint finishers medal, bananas, Clif protein bars, and bragging rights at the end. HOW CAN YOU PASS THAT UP?? They aren’t just GIVING these badass medals away.. you’ve got to EARN it!!

Ooohhhkkaaay… let’s see what’s coming up this week.

Monday – Seated Z press (see daily post) superset with hangs from the bar, and some heavy hang cleans as part of a couplet. It won’t be as bad as ‘running DT’ a few Monday’s ago. Maybe..

Tuesday
– First double strength of the new cycle and it’s a doozy – split snatch and some heavy carries. Some snatches in cashout WOD as part of another couplet.

Wednesday
– Long workout as no strength is programmed. But it will be a good test of that grip strength from Monday with swings and toes to bar.

Thursday
– Working on your summer peach with some glute bridges followed by lunges. You love a nice bootie? Learn to love these two movements.

Friday
– Box squats (new!) followed by some dumbbell work including renegade rows.

Saturday
– Another long day workout – no strength – includes some running and deadlifts.

Should be another great week, so let’s start off the month and the new strength cycle on a good note.
