The backbone of Old City CrossFit is traditional CrossFit workouts, focusing on strength, conditioning, and mobility. These workouts combine gymnastics, weightlifting, and metabolic conditioning in varying degrees and durations to create unparalleled results. From the basic (but all-important) air squat all the way to the very technical muscle up and Olympic lifts, we utilize them all and make it workable for anyone at any level of fitness. We build strength, endurance, agility, technical ability, and general awareness of body and mind by training movements that support functional ability and translate to real life. And of course, there are the aesthetic benefits, too.
Mixed level Hatha Yoga class with emphasis on alignment. Every pose can be made more accessible or more challenging, according to each student’s ability. Muscular awareness and engagement are used to create length, rather than passive stretch. Mobility and flexibility are heavily emphasized, with a strong focus on core strength for stability and balance to help you move in and out of lifts with greater ease. Yoga complements your CrossFit and strength and conditioning workouts.
SwimWOD’s highly experienced coaches teach the drills and techniques employed by the best swimming programs in the world. SwimWODs are high intensity, full-body swimming workouts without the high-impact. Our class format pushes you to swim further and faster than you would otherwise do on your own and have fun doing it! Our team of expert former collegiate coaches can help anybody at any level with technique, endurance while improving your fitness. We will teach you detailed swim stroke progressions to make you a faster, more efficient swimmer while getting you into great shape.

Our Olympic Weightlifting classes aim to improve the classic Olympic lifts, the snatch and clean and jerk. We have found that the most successful CrossFit athletes have built a strong technical foundation in these 2 lifts. Our programming follows set cycles ranging from the introductory level to more advanced cycles prepping lifters for WODs or competition. Our Olympic Weightlifting classes are great whether you are looking to improve your technique, proficiency, and strength, or wanting to pursue Olympic Weightlifting as a sport.

Old City Swim School offers swim lessons for children through our partnership with SwimAmerica. Old City is pleased to be able to provide access to this premier learn-to-swim program as the only accredited SwimAmerica program in the District of Columbia.

At Old City Gymnastics, we are passionate about preparing kids of all ages and abilities to lead healthy and active lives. We do this by teaching gymnastics with a focus on developing fundamental body movement techniques in a fun and low-key environment.
Our team of expert former competitive gymnasts, dancers, and collegiate athletes (including an aerialist!) truly enjoy teaching and working with kids of all ages and abilities. Our goal is to help your child learn age-appropriate fundamental body movement techniques through gymnastics.
